Barney Frank Internet Gambling Bill on unclear track for passage
The Las Vegas Review Journal, who as you can imagine has more than a passing interest in gambling legislation, is reporting that Rep. Barney Frank’s Internet Gambling Bill will likely be introduced shortly after Easter, but is not exactly on the fast track for passage. There are too many other bills pending before this gets taken up, and even then the chances for passage are marginal. Many of the anti-gambling forces will jump on the economy as an excuse NOT to pass the bill, citing a few people who will come out and demonstrate how gambling destroyed their lives and they should save their money for food and medicine, etc.
The bill should be number HR 2046 but we won’t know for sure until it’s filed.
